What You Will Be Doing
Plan, develop, manage and provide leadership of an effective Maintenance Department through:
- Ensuring the safety and well being of oneself and all of the associates in the production facility.
- Identify areas where safety issues could arise and take measures to proactively address the concerns.
- Actively supervising, developing and communicating with a team of millwrights, electricians and multi-craft personnel to ensure effective communication across and between shifts and teams.
- Department-wide use of reliable troubleshooting methods and repair of machine and facility maintenance issues.
- Utilizing preventive maintenance systems to reduce unscheduled downtime.
- Effective use of performance measuring/management systems and skills development for department improvement.
- Full utilization of computer-based maintenance management systems and other resources available to support effective prioritization of maintenance
requests and management of the maintenance inventory system.
- Continuous improvement efforts involving maintenance and production crews in problem solving to maximize facility improvement in safety, housekeeping, waste reduction, quality, productivity and cost.
What You Need for this Position
- Engineering/Technical Degree or equivalent experience / training.
- Minimum of three (3) years maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment with proven skills in the areas of preventive and predictive maintenance methods.
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting ability.
- Ability to identify root cause of problems and effectively initiate immediate corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.
- Must have excellent interpersonal, team building, problem solving and communication skills.
- Must have track record of consistently demonstrating leadership skills as well as positive influence and accomplishments in proactively influencing safety, quality, productivity and people development.
- Ability to provide innovative solutions to continuously improve maintenance processes and eliminate unscheduled downtime.
- Must be willing to work holidays as needed, be on-call and work rotating weekends as schedule requires.
- Must be computer literate with ability to learn and use software associated with maintenance tracking systems.
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures and at heights should conditions warrant.
Preferred Qualification:
- PLC trouble shooting skills
- College degree or technical training in a related field.
- Proven skills in hydraulics and pneumatic troubleshooting.
- Experience in wood products manufacturing.
- Experience with LEAN processes.
- Experience with SAP CMMS software.
