Description: The Mental Health Technician / Psychiatric Technician will assist in total patient care and guide therapeutic approaches. The Mental Health Tech / Psychiatric Tech is an active team member and participates in appropriate treatment modalities, provides for thephysical and psychological environment on the Unit, according to the goals and philosophy of the Unit Program. Responsibilities Provides personal care and behavioral assistance/interventions to assigned clients. Assisting clients with grooming, eating/meal preparation, and toileting Assisting with ambulation and transfer services Management of difficult behavior Crisis Intervention Encouraging Independence Maintaining patient safety Implementation of behavioral plans Documents care per Maxim policies and procedures Other Mental Health Tech/ Psych Tech duties as assigned Qualifications High School diploma or its equivalent. Associates degree in behavioral studies or related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum of one year Mental Health Technician / Psychiatric Technician or relevant experience preferred. Full command, verbal and written, of the English language. Current CPR card. Current PPD or Chest X-Ray. Current Health Certificate (if applicable). Successful completion of Maxim screening test with a score of 80% or greater.
