This is a full-time (1.0 FTE ), 12-month, fixed term professional faculty position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Director. INTO OSU is a collaboration between OSU and IUP and is an initiative to increase the number of international students at OSU . INTO OSU recruits international students to enroll at OSU in a variety of programs: one-year Pathway programs, Academic English programs, General English programs, special short term programs, and direct entry into any undergraduate and graduate program. The OSU Office of International Admissions processes applications for all international students at the undergraduate level, the graduate level MBA program, and all English language and academic preparatory programs administered by INTO OSU , including the undergraduate and graduate Pathway programs. The International Undergraduate Evaluator Coordinator is responsible for evaluating international credentials and leading a team in the daily coordination of evaluation processes and upholding standards for INTO OSU undergraduate Pathway and OSU undergraduate degree seeking programs. Position Duties 15% Supervision Lead and motivate team and problem-solve effectively; Supervise the International Admissions Undergraduate Evaluators including hiring, training, assigning work, monitoring progress, resolving problems, taking disciplinary actions when necessary; Provide staff with professional development opportunities as available and appropriate. 60% Evaluating Academic Credentials Evaluate foreign credentials for admission eligibility of prospective international undergraduate students; Review status of former/current institutions and degrees for accreditation in the country of origin using reference books and internet resources to determine whether OSU requirements are met; Process requests, and communicate decisions to applicants. Represent the OSU International Admissions office on campus and be prepared to discuss admissions criteria for all undergraduate and pathway programs; Update Salesforce and Banner database records, and trigger communications to applicants. Inform stakeholders and applicants of admit or deny decisions and prepare contested files for additional reviews; Responsible for staying up-to-date on evaluation standards, educational practices and the latest information on academic policy regarding admissions standards at the undergraduate level both nationally and internationally; Determine whether applicants meet minimum language requirements. Review official documents and match documents with applications. Scan and index official documents; Duties are completed while working within designated time frames and high performance expectations. 25% Administration Lead a team of employees in their daily functions (Undergraduate Program Evaluators). Review work of evaluators when admission eligibility is questionable. Responsible for staying up to date and assisting with training of evaluators on evaluation standards and educational practices; Ensure that evaluations are completed within a time frame that meets Service Level Agreements between the Office of International Admissions and external stakeholders; Assist with processing student progression from undergraduate Pathway to undergraduate degree seeking; When needed, refer exceptions to the International Admissions Assistant Manager; Assist the International Admissions Assistant Manager with researching credential equivalents for proposed changes to evaluation standards; Serve as a Designated School Official ( DSO ) to create immigration paperwork; Provide a high level of customer service to both students and stakeholders. Act as a main point of contact for the INTO North America Application Processing Center; Represent INTO OSU and OSU within the larger context of the University. Collaborate with external INTO stakeholders to support the continued enrollment of international students; Additional related duties as assigned. Evening and weekend work required depending on project and time lines. Minimum/Required Qualifications - Demonstrated ability to complete projects independently - Strong oral/written communication and interpersonal skills, and a high degree of professionalism - Experience providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced, demanding environment - Knowledge of MS Office applications, Banner SIS , and Salesforce - Prior experience evaluating international credentials and working with an international population - Experience working with international agencies/educational counselors assisting applicants - A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU STANDARD 576-055-xxxx et seq.
