GENERAL SUMMARY Merchandisers/Utility workers are responsible for the delivery and displaying of Bimbo Bakeries USA bakery products within the assigned accounts and/or assigned area. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS Attends regularly and on time. Must be able to work a split week. Typical workdays are Wednesdays and Sundays, as well as designated afternoons. Hours could be full-time or part-time, depending on area. Will be required to work weekends and holidays. Position requires lifting/carrying trays, boxes and/or baskets of product weighing up to 40 lbs. Tasks require sitting, standing, walking climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, kneeling, bending, and twisting. Drives truck (with or without automatic shift) from store to store for product delivery. Removes outdated products from shelves of accounts and places on racks in back room. Brings new product from backroom or truck into store and places it on shelves or display sites according to schematics. Interacts with store personnel or customers, providing information and promoting good relations. Will assist in keeping depot area clean and orderly. Will put fuel in truck and check oil as needed. Position Requirements Must have a valid Drivers License. D.O.T. certification required in compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Must have safe driving record and pass driving test. Must provide copy of current driving record. Must be 21 years of age per D.O.T. Regulations. Work requires ability to read, write, and communicate in English in order to understand work and safety instructions. Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be a "self-starter; and able to work independently without direct supervision for the majority of time. Must be able to work in all weather conditions. Computer skills with proficiency with spreadsheet, database, and other software applications. Capable of understanding complex instructions.
